I have recently found out my close friend got vaccinated. It just never came up in discussion. From what I understand, the moderna and Pfizer gene therapies are different from the AZ and J&J vaccines. I never hear the two categories distinguished from eachother. Are there different protocols or worries he should have if he took the J&J?

There's no difference between mRNA and adenovirus vaccines other than the delivery mechanism. Same payload.

Also, the mRNA vaccines can change DNA as well.
