Got into a "discussion" with an office liberal who thinks Trump is Satan reincarnate. Like most attempts at reasoning with them, it went nowhere. She implored me to please look up project2025 and then discuss it with her. I am reasonable so I agreed.
I did a brief search online as I had never heard of project2025. I was amazed at the flood of articles and videos about it. I also noticed they ALL were from msm and majorly left leaning pundits.
Has anyone looked into this before and can give a synopsis of what is going on? Almost seems like a major foothold on the minds of people that may be a reason that they wont listen to logical thinking.
Misinformation campaign this widespread that I have never even heard of? Disturbing.
I can't say I'd heard of it before now, but a shallow dive makes me think it doesn't really seem all that bad. I asked Perplexity to summarize it; here's what it said:
summarize the goals of project2025.org
Project 2025 is a conservative initiative led by the Heritage Foundation aimed at preparing for a potential Republican administration taking office in January 2025. Its main goals include:
Developing a comprehensive conservative policy agenda covering major issues facing the country[1][3].
Creating a database of conservative personnel to fill government positions[1].
Providing training for potential conservative administrators through workshops, seminars, and mentorship[1].
Crafting a 180-day playbook of actions to quickly implement conservative policies[1].
Dismantling what they call the "administrative state" by reducing federal bureaucracy and increasing presidential control over agencies[3][4].
Promoting conservative values in areas like family, immigration, energy policy, and individual rights[4].
Implementing significant changes in various federal agencies, including potential elimination of some departments[4].
Advancing controversial policies such as restricting abortion access, changing immigration policies, and altering climate and economic approaches[4].
The project aims to have a fully developed plan and vetted personnel ready to implement conservative policies immediately upon a Republican president taking office in 2025[2][5].
