He was evacuated from the embassy (Ecuador embassy in Paris?? can't remember) after years there, by the Brits, and put into prison there, where he fought extradition to the US. Can't even remember what excuse the Brits used to get him out of the embassy and into their prisons!! WHY? He was already confined to the embassy, could not leave, everyone knew where he was.
