You forgot to factor shrinkflation into the maff. Like a 12 ounce can now has 11 ounces and the bag of Fritos is now being sold in same size bag but less ounces per bag. Factor that in and see how much Diaper-Joe has really hurt the average American.
So obviously there is bad inflation, but can I show you why that is a shit methodology?
Meijer foods:
Lays Stax regular price: $2.59
BUT, if you buy three right now they're 3 for $5 = $1.67
AND if you wait 4 more days they're 7 for $7 = $1
So, did we experience NEGATIVE 35.5% inflation because we buy three today? Will we experience negative 61% inflation Sunday because we bought 7? No, that's all simply how absurd pricing is in our economy where you can easily pay more than double by not buying on sale.
This is flawed logic when dealing in Walmart math. Walmart does not run sales, they run on everyday low prices. Those prices rarely move over 25 cents. Unless they are clearance items. Even clearance rarely goes for over half off, if it does it is put in pallets and sold to places like big lots or saver stores.
Walmart order from 2 years ago: Total Cost for 45+ items = $126.67
SAME ORDER FROM WALMART TODAY: Total Cost for 45+ items = $414.39
Oh goodie, some Maff.
414.39/126.67 = 3.27 so, a 327% increase.

Demonstrably untrue.
