For those wondering, nah, I'm not devoting 2 hours to this (please drop us a comment to that effect, would you?) there's literally no submission statement possible. The entire episode from tip to tail is packed with solid analysis that you absolutely should not miss.
This is the best show on Badlands and my new favorite. I like Devolution Power Hour with these two and Herold as well. The other Devolution Power Hour is good, but not as good.
Cultural Heretics and Baseless Conspiracies up there too. Everything with Burning Bright is really good IMO. He has such an interesting perspective.
Since I started following Defected from last year shortly after they started up (curious about the Moniker "just human" and also aware of the "burning bright" motif from my high school studies on Blake), they quickly became my go-to and favorite. And yeah, like you, I do Dev Power Hour (DPH) on Wednesdays, with Defected on Sunday, my favorite bookends.
I've come across and engaged with and moved on from so many good podcasters/interpreters/alt-media sources over the past 7 years, and probably the longest I stayed with overall was X22. But nothing has lasted as long as the Defected boys for sustained focus. They've influence my way of thinking significantly, I'm happy to say.
Because their focus is not just the information, but HOW we engage with the information, and to me, that's become the crux of the information war.
So happy that Cat has posted and promoted this via a sticky. Bandlands is an exceptional project overall, and the real cream of Badlands is found with our dynamic duo, (I wrote, exhibiting pure 100% bias!).
I went through quite a lot. Praying Medic of course, and Dave at x22 (for a longer period) but also went though In The Matrix (who I now avoid, they're having shown their true colors), Bards of War, Black Conservative Patriot, Bannon's Warroom, Edge of Wonder, Man in America, American Thought Leaders, Rudy Gulianni, SGT report, etc.
The stand out ones for quality and relevance (to a Qdog like myself) have been PM, X22, and surprisingly EoW, but Defected and Jon Harold Dev on Wendesdays have superseded them all.
"listened to stuff and graduated" - Exactly.
Having seen how big badlands has grown, and the quality of all the shows on it, I think the future is really bright for them. I hope their name and reputation gets out there more and more. That level of quality deserves to pull 10x the numbers that they have right now. (imo)
Note: So nice to meet such a likeminded anon. The journey is real. thx dolly.

Agree! I feel like I’ve listened to stuff and graduated. Started with praying medic then x22 now my go to is Badlands.
Right? Absolooofly.

3.5 hours actually but if you set the playback speed to 1.5x it's significantly quicker and still easy to follow. :)
