I think the real key to this ruling is not what the president has immunity for, but that it outlines in detail where the president doesn’t have immunity. Keep in mind, up until the last year the president was presumed to have blanket immunity. So much so that no one has even dared to challenge the office.
Now, not only has precedent been set that you can charge a president and put him on trial (thank you Dems), but you have a full roadmap sanctioned directly by the Supreme Court (thank you Clarence Thomas). I think this is the last real legal tool that was needed to pursue the deep state from a legal perspective.
