This guy is traitorous scumbag that sold out his electorate. He used to be leader of the Popular Christian Democrat Party. He then commited career suicide when he formed a coalition with the Communist Party of Moldova back in 2004.
After that he never got more than 1% in all the state elections. Then he came back with the whole "it was a mistake, but I've changed" trope. Now he's trying to position himself as this fighter against globalism. Don't trust him at all. The guy is an opportunist at best.
Thanks for the context, fren. I triangulated some of his recent output with some other articles on him this weekend - Meryl Nass (of whom I am not a fan) posted the transcript of his article and James Delingpole (of whom I am a fan) wrote about meeting him at the event he spoke at in Moldova - and I came to the (admittedly rushed and poorly discerned) conclusion he was probably legit. It certainly reads exactly how I would expect an opportunist to write, bundling up dissident narratives into something that might pass for joined-up awakened thinking. Will now spend a bit more time on a 360 view. Although he seems to be saying and doing the right things, there are some conspicuously absent narratives and observations in his assessments, and getting Meryl Nass’s blessing (who i do not trust one iota) should have been my first red flag…
No worries fren. Rosca is as obscure as they get. I'm just from eastern europe and I witnessed first hand everything what I described earlier.
Even in Moldova, the guy has been irrelevant since 2004. Most of the locals have no idea what he is up to these day anyways.
As a sidenote, the Communist party he allied himself with were mega based. Despite being made up of ex-USSR commies, they fought the globalists tooth and nail and even managed to kick them out. And despite their name, they actually did their absolute best to strengthen the free market other there.
Their president, Vladimir Voronin had a Moldova first policy. In 2009 the IMF and the World Bank basically said that if they want more loans, they need to fire 50% of their school teachers, raise the retirement age from 65 to 70 and replace all the school curriculums with globohomo approved DEI bullshit. In response, he kicked all of them out. As a result they staged a coup aka a color revolution on April 6, 2009 and tried overthrowing him. They failed.
However, the populace was being brainwashed 24/7 with globohomo/NATO/EU propaganda and ended up electing, Liberals, Liberal Democrats and Social Democrats as the dominant force in their next election. Suffice to say, like any place that votes liberals in, Moldova became a globohomo colony and a complete failed state. Currently it exists on EU subsidies, while most of it's workforce is either abroad or subsidized by the people who live abroad.
As a FYI: Rosca's party was originally a pro-globohomo party. Despite being named the Popular Christian Democrat Party, it was a sociliast democrat spoiler party. However, the globohoms didn't expect that his desire for power was so big that he would betray them. Suffice to say, for the next 5 years after this, there we no liberal democrat parties in Moldova.
Dissident? lol
