Hey all,
My father appears to have contracted pyorrhea. The gums look pale and receding. He’s tried a week of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquin for a brush with a different illness (got over that fast) but his gums and jaw still hurt. Unfortunately he eats sugar like an ant and like many on said drug it’s very hard to get off.
Anyone know best treatment for Pyorrhea? He’s going to see his dentist but for a variety of reasons can’t until next week.
Prayers welcome and encouraged.
lugol iodine 5%, 10 drops in 20 ml of water, swich in mouth for 1 minute then spit, 2 times/day: kills bacteria responsible for infection and iodine is gum friendly. It will slightly sting but not more than mouthwash. As for the sugar addiction, some sugar substitute are very good at starving the bad oral bacteria that cause gingivitis/pyorrhea. These are xylitol and erythritol, which is even better. the bacteria eat them up, fooled into thinking its food but cannot metabolize it. I am not a doctor so plz apply due diligence. Best of luck.
