Let's be brutally honest here... NO ONE trusts the DOJ / FBI to investigate this attempt, NO ONE. I am as certain as I was about the Warren Commission Report that anything the DOJ / FBI produces will be a coverup and only cherry-picked "facts" will be reported to the public. Damn all of them!

You're right, there needs to be an independent investigation that is NOT beholden to the DOJ / FBI / CIA complex.

Follow up thought: Maybe "the military is the only way" fits here.
