I believe based on this example the whole world now agrees that DEI hiring is basically just nepotism except instead of rejecting qualified candidates and installing family & friends, you reject a qualified candidate in exchange for an unskilled meat suit that just takes up office space and does not actually contribute to the workplace, but does help you get your participation trophy in the DEI program.

Seems to be the game plan.
And they don't have the experience to recognize when their supervisor is directing them to do something illegal.
