Those are not lightning strikes. A thunderbolt from above is a single line until it branches off near the surface. If you look you can clearly see all three of these electrical emission came from below going up into the sky. I know what I think it means. The Earth acts like a capacitor and at times in its cycles it has to discharge stored electricity. It happens around active volcanoes and in locations that tend to have large earthquakes before and or after. Now I might have a fact or two out of place but the gist of my whole comment is that those bolts came from below Chicago and went up into the stratosphere.
