I can't get this part of the speech out of my brain. Is it as simple as a man realizing his mortality, and his protection by God? Is it comms? Is it true? Is he actually not supposed to be here and now we're on a different timeline? This part hit me really hard, especially with his sincere and almost... sad? delivery.
What are your thoughts?
I remember him saying (or writing) something like that earlier in the week, and it bothered me then. Also, his call with the resident when he was asked “Why did you move your head?”. What an odd thing to say.
I imagine that he feels terrible about what happened. He's demonstrating how a genuine leader shows respect for the victims' families, because he actually cares. If he took one bullet and was done, would anyone else have been injured?
