I just don’t get it. The swampiest of swamp assholes. Don’t tell me it’s “Keep your enemies close” because that will not excuse giving them power in appointed roles.

Maybe they are controlled opposition at this point.
Maybe he's putting them front and center so the media either exposes them or exposes their own complicity in the machine.
Maybe he's sowing doubt and dissension in his enemies.
Maybe they are hidden spies and he's providing top cover.
