It comes from the aspect of who warped their sexuality. You’re gay so you probably know, but homosexuality is about dominance, and unlike male/female relationships where it’s blatant who is the dominant one and who is submissive, with two men someone has to “play” one of the roles. So the fruity frilly ones “act” close to the way females act while the “normal” ones are usually the dominators.
