From time to time I get an epiphany.

I have always been taught that Jesus on Palm Sunday enters the city on the back of donkey as an act of humility. I believe I was shown tonight this is wrong. Think of it in the context of a shepherd, we are all his flock and some of us are his his sheep, but some of us are donkey's. So what is his donkey? If you have a flock of sheep you put out donkey's with the sheep and they kill anything that attack his flock, so Christ in my view was saying " I ride forth triumphantly on the back of those that protect my flock!" . If you doubt me ask a sheep herder, they will destroy anything that attacks the flock. Jesus was riding forth, telling us triumphantly that we are the Donkey that he rides upon protecting his flock from the satanic wolves. Some of us are donkeys and some the sheep of his flock. I am a donkey, and I have been told all my life that Christ has no place for me because I am a warrior at heart. We are not all cut from the same cloth, but I know now my place in the lord, I can be a donkey and God help the wolves.
Thank you
That’s a really uplifting take :)
Thanks fren. Jesus was fulfilling the prophecy in Zechariah 9:9 “ … behold the King is coming to thee, just, and a Savior, riding on an ass…” Donkeys are symbols of humility, service, suffering and peace. Christ is Lord!
