Odd, I had this very discussion last week with a leftist who was complaining about "saving democracy." I told him that 'democracy' was not worth saving and that it's the lowest form of governing.
He looked at me like I had grown a third eye, so I quickly told him that America IS NOT A DEMOCRACY, no matter how much the MSM tells him it is. I informed him, apparently for the first time in his life, that America is a Constitutional Representative Republic.
We were at a larger meeting that was about to start, so he went silent, but I could see him three chairs down looking at his phone. After a couple of minutes he tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, "I stand corrected."
This man has an MBA, has worked in banking firms around the globe -- London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Japan, and elsewhere....and did not know this basic bit of American civics. Amazing.
