I really don't know. I thought I had read years ago that Brits could have hunting rifles but had to keep them at the local police station. I don't see that here but what a purposefully brain exploding mess of gun laws! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_regulation_in_the_United_Kingdom

Thanks. Apparently they are able to own guns at any rate. I was interested in the idea that Americans getting ready to face off against the Brits first helped themselves to the arms in their local armory. I'm sure most who lived like my ancestors at the time on what was then the frontier or were farmers had guns but town people may not have.
Appears so, but the information being 9 years old. I suspect they may have made changes.
