I wish I was awake enough when I was little to talk with my grandparents. They lived in Germany at the time and had a front row view of how it went down. They always seemed like they knew the way it was written in history was wrong. And of course like everyone else was afraid to be labeled a Nazi which was what always happened when someone questioned the narrative. Grandma would always stop herself as she began pointing out the bad stuff the allies did. My grandfather was an officer in the German army. He was terrified he would be tried. The real elites, the deep state the Nazis whatever you want to call them back then never went to trial. And he knew he was exactly the kind of ordinary officer the United States was looking for. If he ever told anyone what happened during the war it was my grandma
