Wow considering how beautiful and active (bike, run, kayak, hike) Seattle was and how accessible the mountains, the beach towns & I even used it as a starting point to do amazing skiing in Canada. It was an amazing place to visit prior to the last 5 years! It had beautiful architecture, great restaurants and scenery. This is sad!
Very sad. I moved from there 2021
Mail in voting has been in Washington state for decades. Every aspect of government is corrupt. The good guys will never get into office. I was born in 1963 in Seattle. The decline has been so hard to watch. My family finally moved to Texas in 2015/2016 but have three brothers and one sister still living there. They are all awake but can’t leave due to family and business they own. Washington state was one of the best places to grow up in. Makes me sick to see how far it has fallen. 😡
I was in Portland and I know exactly what you are talking about to see it go down the hill to the demons.
Traveling? Don't go there.
Born here in 1957. A customer of mine is a high school Pacific Northwest history teacher, a15 year resident. He asked me when I felt this state changed, without hesitation I stated the year 2000, that’s when FRAUD by mail voting was instituted. Just look at the governor’s race that year, was a shitshow fraud to the highest level and has only gotten worse since. Your vote IS useless.
The whole state is controlled by the big 3 shithole counties, Pierce (Olympia), King (Seattle), and Snohomish (Everett) Go to Eastern Washington and it’s a different world just as going West, the peninsula is opposite as well. A narrow 100 mile stretch of the I-5 corridor controls this crooked state. It is the flush lever of a big commode. So very sad.
Almost exact same with calirado. And in free fall now.
Oh, mail in ballots again. Just like Oregon changed.
It should say king/pierce/Snohomish counties. As far as crime, the rest of the state is reasonable.
Clark also.
Take that article with a grain of salt and understand it in context of the motivation of the author, unsuccessful Seattle City Council candidate Ari Hoffman who didn't receive enough votes in the 2019 primary to make it onto the general election ballot:

Thank you. I understand what you are saying.
Hoffman is a conservative talk-show host on KVI 570 in Seattle. I've listened to him for years and trust his veracity. He has been totally in touch with what is going on in the streets, e.g., the "homeless" and all the depredations against commercial property. Personally, I would not consider venturing into downtown Seattle unarmed. Several years ago, I had my car broken into and my house burgled in a violent way. The police were not able to do much about it, but couldn't do more for want of personnel. It has been 3 years and I have yet to receive a requested copy of the police report on the burglary.
He's not wrong- it is a shithole- context: Lived in Seattle metro 35+ yrs. This is the WORST I have ever seen...
He ran 4 years ago- he is a successful conservative radio host- old news....
Don’t know if I should say this on here…because it being YouTube and all, but there’s a channel on there called Washington Gun Law. I recently found it and it’s pretty good for fellow Washingtonians to check out.
Born and raised here and yeah the cities suck. Rest of the state is based. Seems to be how it is with most states.
Hey thanks for the info. I will check it out.
THis is written by a failed councilman who is trying to scare people to vote for him by saying the place is so dangerous, this is a typical liberal move. They always spout off about how dangerous certain places are and how they are the only ones who can stop the violence there.
We LIVE here- he is NOT exaggerating- we have a fucking law on the books (still trying to reeal) that states police CANNOT CHASE A PERP!
Yeah, I do too. And I disagree with that law, but did you know that Washington State had the highest number of deaths that happened due to shitty police driving during high speed chases for 10 years in a row? It wasn't even close. Number two was Alabama and it was more than half less that Washington. There was a huge campaign to fund police driving lessons so they didn't kill more than 100 civilians a year and injure almost 500 more every single year. That's an insane amount of innocent people dying while police chase people committing minor crimes.
The Washington republicans, which are basically liberals anywhere else, blocked legislation to fund pursuit classes for police drivers because they thought it cost too much, and instead they just banned cops from chasing people over property crime.
Police are still required to pursue any person who committed a violent crime.
So maybe know what is actually happening before you ramble on.
He ran FOUR years ago! He is NOT running now- please get facts straight.
Maybe you should check again. You don't really seem like someone who has facts on your side after spouting off about the police pursuit law and not understanding it at all.
What facts Bob? This IS OLD, he is not currently running- bye bot
And you are writing with your foot in your mouth. You don't know what you are talking about. For him, the council run was a civic moment; he spends his time on radio talking to the public about the civic situation in Seattle. He is about as liberal as John Wayne---which reference only goes to show how little you know about him. That, and your pooh-poohing of the situation.
