Colorado brags on their sunny days but they fail to mention that many of those sunny days are accompanied by very cold temperatures. It’s usually very sunny when the temperatures are -10.
And they love to say that ‘the snow melts the next day’ but only when it snows in April and May.
Expect snow from October to May. The earliest snow we experienced was Sept and the latest was the weekend before Memorial Day.
We live at 8600 ft in the foothills. Snow rarely sticks for more than a few days unless it’s a serious cold snap and you’re on north facing property in the trees. Snow remains a long time in those areas.
We’ll typically sit outside in short sleeves many days when it’s sunny with snow on the ground.
If we could find a place climate wise exactly like we have…minus the liberal shithole effect, it’d be perfect.
