"we funded two conferences, but we stopped that last year" Home Depot blew off the "reporter". Why did they fund them? Who gave the approval? What are they doing now? why did they stop? I mean, seriously. These reporters don't do any wrapping up of the information, just report the thing they think will blow people up the most. I admit I was a journalism major 30 years ago, and even then I kept people on the line when I was writing an article until I had no more questions that I thought people would want to know. I knew I had access people either didn't, or wouldn't take the time to. They relied on me to ask. So I always tried to. What an incomplete article.
In regards to Home Depot, is their CEO the one that made the decision.. both the first one and the last? Do they now know that was the wrong decision? Do they apologize to parents and students for supporting such trash, and what are they doing to make it right?
Sadly we are in the middle of a big project and rely on Home Depot. There is really nowhere else to go around here. What a monopoly they have, and I have no idea how they did it or what can be done to break the monopoly. I have moved on to the part of my life where I am raising and homeschooling kids, which doesn't leave much time to do the darn reporters job for them.

Thank you for sharing this. I have similar issues with reporters these days. The real questions are no longer asked or not allowed to be asked.
