The US Army responded in a statement Thursday that rebuked the Trump campaign for having flouted federal laws to pose for a photo with Gold Star families at Arlington National Cemetery.

I think it took a lot of courage for Donald do that. It is a very powerful image of the enormity of the ultimate sacrifice and he deflected the intensity of the possible backlash with a bold move that showed his dedication to families. Something to break the spell the media has over the army and the people. May God be with those families!
