As I watch my parents memory decline drastically from this death shot, I sometimes investigate to see what could possibly be done for them.
I've come across something interesting, probably a long shot, but been focusing on substances that increase neurogenesis.
Psychedelics have been shown to increase neurogenesis. One that is really serious and surprisingly effective is ibogaine.
Ibogaine has been used to get people off of heroin, alcohol, and other addictive substances in one treatment. It is being researched in Parkinson's disease. It really is miraculous if you look at the data.
Now, it is incredibly taxing on the body. If you have anyone suffering from addiction, you should look into this. It is pretty expensive and kind of dangerous if done alone, so there are clinics in Mexico that do this under strict medical supervision.
But it is being used for Parkinson's because it increases GDNF, which can help the brain grow new dopaminergic cells. Addicts come out of the treatment feeling pretty damn good. Veterans are starting to go for PTSD- Sean Ryan did this exact treatment.
The question I have is if anyone uses this, especially us God-Fearing people, is this a sin? I know psychedelics are entering into other realms, other entities, and is something God has warned about. There is definite spiritual danger in messing with psychedelics.
Using it strictly for medicinal purposes, not to speak with entities or to get high, but to help PTSD, neurogenesis, etc. What's your opinion on the nature of this. How do you think God views this?
There are some great Christians in this place, smarter and better than me. Would love to know what you guys think from a sin perspective.
I use psilocybin which i do not consider evil. I use recreationally and helped others with medicinal intent for the potential properties you described. Sadly no positive impact on tinnitus, but great for boosting positive outlook and mood for someone suffering.
I prefer a low dose and proper mindset, right time, right place. I generally have some intense insight or knowing each time, even when just out to have fun , that shifts my lifes direction in some way. I do not see this as coming from any evil source but from Gods unconditional love. I first used as a teen and am convinced it played a part in curing an emotional trauma overnight which was like the permanent removal of a veil i did not know i was shrouded in.
These substances do amplify the energy you bring into them. Which is why its a bad idea to do them in a bad mood or with bad intentions, youll just give yourself a bad trip with negative thoughts and visuals. That said its pretty hard to have any evil intent from the shrooms themselves as they produce a smiley giddyness thats quite innocent. One new avenue of use is helping hospice patients be at peace with their upcoming passing which is very fitting.
LSD is a different substance and while ive not had a bad experience the few times i tried it, nor do i think it evil itself, its certainly can produce bad trips just from how intense it is. Governments loved using it to experiment on people so these things can be used by others for evil intent. At too high of dose, or if you fight the high or allow fear in, probably not a great experience. But ive also had beautiful life altering experiences there too. id still pick psilocybin over it.
I dont know a single thing about ibogane so cant advise there. But thinking about giving your elderly parents psychadelics, i am very concerned promoting a psychadelic experience to someone who may not understand what they are consenting to. If you proceed absolutely go low dose psilocybin, like 0.3 g mushrooms or less. This produces a pleasant but notabl3 alteration while still fully in control, and isnt so intense as to be unbearable for the hours it lasts.
Your last paragraph gave me a laugh. My dumbass didn't even consider that. Probably not a solution for the elderly unless they are dying of cancer. I hear that shrooms really help people who are terminal accept that it will happen and get rid of the depression that follows.
