Hmm, perhaps it shouldn't completely be ruled out, but I've spot checked across Vanguard/Computershare/Schwab/Fidelity and have not been able to find a clear before/after where it changed.
Ok yeah I take it back. I found a spot that reflects this in Schwab. If I go to order status, my order placed on the sixth of this month has:
" GAMESTOP CORP CLASS A"
for my order placed this morning it's:
" GAMESTOP CORP NEW CLASS A"
One reason this may have not reflected in the statements--I'm not sure if statements on these systems are generated and archived, or generated dynamically...
I can confirm the "NEW" thing is a nothingburger.
On my statements going back to 2022 it's listed as:
"GAMESTOP CORP CL A NEW"
