I hate to agree with commie, making drugs legal, but...
I have been in the addiction field for over 30 yrs, I have NEVER met a person who did not try a substance because it was illegal. It is like criminals following "common sense" gun laws, right🤡
It is personal choice. What it would do is eliminate gangs, drug lords, most criminal activities associated with substances. Also, allow police to police other crimes. America's war on drugs, catches approx 1% of illegal drugs.
Use the money we saved on giving people free treatment and they will either die or decide to get better, their choice.
PS The drug alcohol causes the death of 1 out of 20 people in the world every year.
Valid points! I mentioned this on another thread - "God allows everyone to make mistakes and learn from it. I drank enough alcohol to learn to quit it. Never smoked weed, right now don't have the desire to even try it. But I fully support legalizing it. Every soul born on earth chooses to live how it wants to live/suffer/die. Man has no say in that, we can all try to educate, preach and convince others. But never restrict one's right to make mistakes as long as it doesn't take away another one's exercise his/her own rights."
When Colorado legalized they started finding our weed in Mexico in cartel raids. There's a lot to be said about decriminalization but I don't want anyone high on meth, fentynal and heroine around any kids. Big difference between getting stoned in the garage after the kids go to bed or eating some mushrooms on a camping trip vs staying up for days on end figuring out a way to rob someone for your next fix.
