From the moment they walked out on to the stage their opening moves were on display. Trump avoided walking to the center to avoid a handshake, no doubt to show his lack of respect. But Kamel-toe was well rehearsed on any opening he might try. She darted across the stage and met President Trump behind his own podium with a handshake and a big smile saying, "I'm Kamala Harris". Surprised at her aggressiveness, He shook her hand and said, "Donald Trump".
He had lost the opening move. The Harris team had punted to the five-yard line and the ball went straight up into the air...
The first question was to Kamel-toe and her answer allowed the offense to run it to the first down. In the following two exchanges I'd say Trump won the first quarter of the game but with only a 6pt TD vs 2 pts for completed kicks.
What we didn't know was what Kamala was doing for the last two months while hiding from the press.
She was training night and day for this debate, memorized answers for every issue, mastered neuro linguistics to mimic Obama timing and voice intonation and learned all the button pushing points she needed to trigger President Trump into an egoic defense rather than staying on point.
Trump won the last quarter as well but I feal like Harris scored way too much in the two quarters she won.
She bated him each time she spoke with too many ego buttons for him to not pick one to go off the rails on.
He did not come off well to the uneducated voter who is still on the fence.
The uneducated voter does no know that every venous drip that came out of her mouth was lies. They only know how it looked, she came off composed and he came off looking like someone who can't finish a thought, rambling on about dogs and cats being killed by migrants in Springfield Ohio.
This debate was so bad I have to think this is intentional and is bate for a second debate or something I cannot fathom, because on the surface this was as bad as Trump's first debate in 2016.
Yeah the whole "let's try to compare this to SportsBall! Trump lost the coin flip and opponents kicked the ball to the quarter defense but then Trump's team kicked harder and got it to the halfway line!!!"
Sounds so cringe when children's games are brought into a conversation about a presidential debate
I think there is a place for sports metaphors, and I disagree that they are cringe worthy.
Metaphors and parables were how Christ delivered his message because wide audiences could receive them and understand the message better on a base level. I think the same holds true today.
In the end, I do not believe Trump was hurt by this debate at all. But if you were to score it like a ball game, which I did while watching, I think it was 30 -24 victory for Harris but that is based soley on a play by place analysis of the back and forths between them.
He had a dozen opportunities to annihilate her and instead went on defense. He repeatedly did not finish sentences and drive the point home but jumped to a new topic, which is fine at a rally, we all know what he is talking about. But to low information fence sitters that do not understand his speaking style or the topics he was addressing he came off like an old angry dude that only spoke in half sentences before jumping to another point.
Trump is not a politician and that is why I love him. He is smart on his feet but that night he was not as polished as he could have been.
Here is another sports/movie metaphor, Trump seemed like Apollo Creed before his exhibition bout with Ivan Draco. Like Apollo, he thought it was a joke, he did not train or prepare, while his opponent had every trainer in the world surrounding her and getting her ready for this fight.
The world had such low expectations of Harris that all she needed to do was to show up and not shit her pants on stage. Instead, she showed up prepared, when Trump nailed her good, she never once defended herself but just went on to the next lie with a smile and a concerned, sincere look on her face. While Trump took the bait over and over defending himself from her lies and missing opportunities to drive home important messaging.
