Yes, to remind government it is prohibited to infringe on our right o bear arms in any way, shape, or form. It also serves to remind them of what a militia is, and who is part of the militia. It has nothing to do with us, other than to serve as an additional reminder of a right conferred upon us by our Creator that preexists any earthly government.

The right to self defense is a foundational right that comes from our Creator, and includes the right to defend ourselves from tyrannical government.
