Many of Ireland's left-wing establishment are nouveau riche (not necessarily "rich," but certainly affluent by American standards). Their hatred of indigenous working-class Irish people seems to know no bounds.
It is very similar to the hatred that the American leftist establishmemt (and their useful idiots) have for ordinary working Americans.
You can see at Reddit how programmed so many of the young Irish people are. Many of them are children of affluent parents (they will inherit), and themselves have high-paying white-collar jobs, so they will not be impacted personally by the economic and cultural destruction of the Irish nation.

I was in Ireland in the late 1980s for several months. I could tell something was deeply "not right' -- the hatred for, almost embarrassment of, their own Irish cultural and religious (Catholic) background was visible even back then.
And the children and teens of the 1980s would be middle-aged or even newly retired now.
The late Desmond Fennell was raising the alarm about this during that time in his books and articles. He was a lone voice (a voice crying in the wilderness) warning that the Irish intelligentsia hated the Irish nation and were intent on its destruction. He was marginalised then, and is ignored now by nearly everyone in Ireland.
I don't have any quotes at hand since I have learned about all of this via Telegram, where the extremely erudite channel Archiving Irish Diversity Stuff has documented Ireland's demise in a way not found anywhere else (to my knowledge).
