Young women don't have the maternal instinct anymore. It's not all, but most. Especially after college.
Between a career and government benefits, they decide they don't "need" a husband or family. Who will love them when they are 65?
A cat may be better than a lizard, but it is nothing like a loving family . . . Cat's don't make you breakfast on mothers' day.
No one will remember their career contributions anyway for the vast majority.
Women aren't thinking about when they're 65. They're thinking about the vacations, cushy disposable income and exciting relationships with men who won't bother to commit.
You are correct— they will go through many cats and dogs and finally realize that their cat can’t help them and love them in their feeble years - I love my dog but my two kids have vowed to keep me out of a nursing home death camp— and their kids will do the same
