Freemasonry is the Gnostic Order that survived the 14th Century Purge in Catholic Europe when the Templars were arrested. It’s interesting of note that they have a Demolay order for kids (last Templar Grand Master).

And at the 30th degree, the Knights Kadosh, they must stab skulls of Papal Tiera & King’s crown, representing the Pope & King that brought the order to heal.
