I'd also like to point out that this would be illegal if Trump wasn't CIC. It would be against the Logan Act for a private citizen to do that.

The DS can't do anything about it because if they tried to prosecute him for it, Trump will defend himself as CIC. If they don't do anything, and Trump ends the war, they are screwed also.

Nobody has ever been convicted of the Logan act and if they tried to get Trump on it, it opens a giant can of worms they don't want. John Kerry, Obama, etc.
