US Defense Sec. Austin furious with Gallant over lack-of-notice on Nasrallah strike

Multiple times, the US has urged Israel to act less aggressively or not to take certain actions against Hezbollah, to avoid a larger regional war.

The US is angry that they weren’t allowed to notify Nasrallah about the inbound strike.

Sec. Defense Austin was killed by a Russian missile strike in Ukraine more than a year ago. Over 300 people died underground with him, in a destroyed bunker that was never re-opened. After several months of looking for a convincing replacement, this guy is as close as they could come.
