I went shopping at walmart today and it was pretty busy for a weekday. Some people seemed to be loading up on items and some looked like they were only buying what they needed at the moment, however there may be a lot of people who don't know about the strike. Like my daughter's bf & his mother had no idea, so she called to tell him so he could run by the store after work to pick up some necessities.
While shopping I overheard a woman on the phone talking to someone and saying how another walmart in the next county over (which is not far away) was "wiped out" and for that person to come shop at the store she was at.
Saw quite a few people with full carts.
Has anyone else noticed anything different at your local stores? Are the shelves being wiped clean yet?
This happened well before the strike (monday). I'm in SC and both gas stations and retail box stores and groceries have been wiped just like with covid.
It's typical hoarding behavior stemming from fear. It's mostly from women demanding it of their male counterparts. Except the gas. I see mostly men hoarding gas, prob for generators. Generators needed for cpap machines and such.
NC where i live is is crippled. I'm stuck in SC and unable to get back to my home. I don't know if my home will even be there. (I could use your blessings)
Gas in upstate SC (spartanburg, greeville) is wiped out. Cash only because power was down and running on generators. Many places that have gas only had 87 octane and limited supply of ethanol free, which many people do not know, is safe to use in a ice engine in say an emergency (cleaner actually)
This hoarding behavior is really shameful but again we don't know their situation or their use. I wanted to grab up a bunch of water bottles and take them up to Asheville but no gas means I wouldn't be able to do the return trip
So I'm waiting and staying out of the way lest i become another liability and problem for them up there. It's so frustrating and demoralizing...not being able to do anything
The strike is a pile on and I hope that ILA union leader gets whacked by someone soon. Yes I'm saying I hope someone murders him to death. He's a bad man. Read the gateway pundit article.
Hope you'll be able to get back to your home soon and that there won't be damage. Praying for you.
What's really funny is Target was wiped the F out just like with covid. No chips, candy, cookies, or even weirdly non dairy creamers. All the frozen, all the fresh, all gone.
But the fruits were totally untouched. The healthiest thing that I would argue is the only 'real' food was totally untouched by the hoarde.
I had to giggle at the non dairy creamers...it's pumpkin spice coffee season, yano ;)
3 Publix in columbia SC was wiped also, but they were trying to restock as fast as they were being depleted. Scourge of locust ville there. There's the black publix on harbison (all black managers and employees), the broad pubs and college pubs in the vista
Same with walmart...worse actually
