I spent last weekend gathering my family that fled Asheville from Charlotte. They showed me pictures of what happened, it's awful.

They lived on a hillside in three cabins. All three cabins were heavily damaged and the road leading up to them was completely destroyed. They had to hike three miles through muddy woods with a few elderly and two dogs to get to a main road. They managed to get a rental uhaul truck and pile everyone inside and drive to Charlotte where they couldn't even find a hotel or air bnb thing. They paid some random guy $200 to let them camp in his backyard for a few days and use his water and bathrooms.

My nephew took pictures the whole time and there were huge parts of roads missing and gigantic landslides all over the place. All of them described it as biblical destruction.

I was shocked how much worse it was than I'd seen on the news.
