A friend of mine just returned from the impact zone. Over a beer he told me they spent almost a day with FEMA body recovery team. They were Western PA firefighters contracted by FEMA in FEMA marked trucks and they were salt of the earth. Of course it was 12 to 4 and 8/12 were armed which makes for a polite scenario. HE did see proof of 82ND ABN and NCNG on the ground. I've also tracked USAF Recovery assets on radar.
Yeah, many of the "FEMA personnel" actually getting shit done are going to be firefighters and EMS contracted (for about $1,000 a day) for that particular disaster.
