As a former Blackhawk crewchief, what probably happened is they were landing for one reason or another. Thought they’d somehow show up and be heroes and boost morale, maybe drop off or pick up some of the supplies for distribution (back to FEMA where it can go to illegals).
Crewchief in back politely said: “Sir, you’re fuckin everything up. Their shit’s going everywhere, and now they’re gonna hate us even more.”
At which point, Mr wannabe hero pilot decided to depart the area, tail between his legs.
Yeah, I responded to the guy under you, too. I have an admitted bias where I'd want to clear the crew of wrongdoing, but after watching the whole thing, it really comes down to incompetence vs malice. But even if it's incompetence, what were they incompetently trying to do?
Really, where exactly was he going to land? He was directly over the supplies ffs. I've spent hours in helos of all types, you can't get a pilot to land any where there isn't plenty of room. There was no HLZ under him.
After watching it again and trying to understand the crew's intention (I'll admit with some bias FOR the crew cause I used to do that job) I genuinely can't come up with some reasonable excuse for what they were doing.
On one hand I wanted to say my pilots did some ridiculous things and could put it down whether there was an HLZ or not, but those poles seemed too close. There's no way that behind all the stuff flying around, there was room to put it down. I can't throw a full-on indictment of what they were doing without hearing from the crew themselves, but you may be right.

But that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.
It's sad that the discussion we have to have is incompetence versus malice.
I can easily see some diversity hire not understanding rotor wash, but I can just as easily see some guy being an a-hole.
Edit: And there's a longer video here: https://communities.win/c/GreatAwakening/p/199O1jYjcn/fema-now-destroying-supplies-wha/c

Land, or at least observe/survey the area.

Official statement release from the NCNG, if you believe them.
