Direct loss by wind damage is covered, flood is not.

Is there any reason why this is? Both are due to the same natural disaster.

I know insurance companies gonna insurance company but still.

Edit: I guess for people in flood related areas, these are separate insurance coverages which is... definitely vexing looking from the outside in.
