Of all the things I shake my head over these days, one of the biggest is how ANYONE could look at/listen to this man and not feel a surge of pride, thankfulness, excitement, warmth, and that thing where you love your dad and just want to do something nice for him, for all the trouble he has gone to, for those he loves.
Then I remind myself how few people love their fathers. Or even knew their fathers.
This man is the most profound public carrier of the fatherly archetype I've seen in my lifetime. His love for his people radiates from him in every action, every gesture and word. I always flash to that photo of him, in '15 or '16, when he met a US veteran who had lost his arms in battle...and reached up and touched the man's face. And the man smiled and beamed and was so clearly glowing to be able to connect like that with DJT.
The other photo I flash to is DJT playing catch with the Little Leaguers outside the WH. None of the MSM covered it. He had a boyish smile that I hope to see on his face again sometime.
