If Donald Trump is re-elected, it'd be unwise for me to return to the U.S. But I have no plans to retire from my intelligence work.

Because it was so controversial, it has drawn a lot of ire, particularly from people who aren't either Russia experts or professional intelligence officers.

Most of them have degrees from Georgetown or Harvard, or even Tufts.

But they buy into the USA won WW2 myth, for example. They make sh*t up. The confabulate. Furthermore, US peeps have a problem separating Ukrainians from Russians - just saying.

Ah there's his problem,

We had no idea, despite being seasoned intelligence professionals, that the U.S. president had the power to declassify any intelligence they wished. We learned about that power because of Trump's intention to use it.

YEah, there is another problem: seasoned intelligence gathering is not about dreaming up a fable, and adding some flavor, it is about compiling ACTUAL evidence and data. And, they got their panties in a bunch because Trump threatened to blow the lid off their confabulation, with a wee bit of transparency.
