I live in a disaster area in GA from Helene. It's the most traumatic, devastating Natual event I've ever been through! Or not natural. Whatever. We still have people 20 days later stuck in their houses. Who can't get out. Nothing like wnc of course. But for a small community... I was without power 15 days. Sooo many still don't have power. It's awful.
MY ASS. I drove up 26 and evne in Clinton SC there was tons of trees knocked over into the highway (landing due west) and smashing the shit out of the guardrails. I estimate about 1% of trees knocked over. That's 1 tree every 100 trees. That's a fuckload of knocked over trees since all up 26 is a forest. Driving 70mph that's like TREE 2 3 4 TREE 2 3 4
SC is going to have to pay prob millions to replace all the guard rails that got smashed up I26
