They’re just gonna keep going the way they have been. Either they win and their masters pat them on the head, or they lose and they’re counting on plausible deniability/“I was just following orders”.

To be fair, they’ve been winning so far enough for things to get this bad, without significant pushback, so they’re hedging their bets on business as usual.
