There have been 9 storms named Helene since we started naming them. The 8th storm, note not hurricane, but tropical storm is always an H name. So the chances of a storm with an H name happening around the same time each year, is REALLY good. In fact, I looked it up and only 5-6 (depending on when you cut it off) of the H named storms for the last 30 years going back to the 90s, DIDN'T happen in September, but came earlier in August, and one in July.
I imagine they'll retire the name now. We used to not even recycle names. When we first started naming them it was Able, Baker, Charlie, etc. which is the military phonetic alphabet before the NATO standardization of Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc. That caused confusion.
