I have seen some educated idiots screw their children up royally trying to home school them.
I don't think we need to encourage more to join the party. Most people are not up to the job. Many lack the discipline to do a decent job. What we need is the voucher system where schools that indoctrinate rather than educate end up shutting down due to lack of funds/students.
I've seen it both ways, some come out ahead and some not so much. Not any worse then public schools, though. At least they had a fighting chance and the freedom to choose.
