Yet another reason to use preprinted ballots. Systems crash, power goes out, shit happens. Paper with serial numbers and pens and printouts of eligible voters can always be used and audited afterwards.

No more machines! It can be a grueling day for the poll workers, especially the inspectors (16 hrs +) but it can and must be done.
