I'll try and be brief. My spouse, who I love, was "thinking about (and may have)" voting for KommieLa as a reformrenda against the Republicans and because he doesn't believe T is a real Christian because he said in an interview he doesnt believe in confession and can't describe his faith. One of the reasons my spouse disagrees with the re'pubs is their policy on the boarder and their acception of a man/T with bad character: -he cheated on Malania -he paid Stormy (dont get me started on this one) -he plans on using lots of tariffs
Ok- i think the reasons are b.s. BUT I think the root is that my spouse believes Trump is a fake Christian (the irony is not lost on me....so Trump is a milk toast Christian...at least he doesnt kill babies and celebrate sexual dabachery)...
Ok, so the ask: does anyone know any pre-political career statements Trump has made about his faith? Videos would be great. I think anything after his presidential run would be dismissed as pandering to Christians...i mean i'd still take if it is a strong statement ...i am trying to build a case that T may be a flawed Christian but still a real one.
Any help/guidance/tips would be well appreciated!!
Thank you!!
Oh! That is good! I had brought up David (hubby said, "well he repented") BUT i did not think of the non-believers God used. Nice! Thank you!
How does your husband know Donald Trump hasn’t repented? Does he know him personally? So that can’t be a valid excuse or an argument.
Also Paul was Saul - he was literally hunting down and killing Christians, but God chose him. He has salvation, so why can’t Donald Trump?
Also… Why does somebody have to be a Christian to be our president? Of course, we would all like that, and we think it would align with our values… But voting for somebody for the only reason if they’re Christian or not, doesn’t make any sense. Especially when the only other person to vote for is literally a demon in a pant suit.
He says because, "Trump keeps denying it" re Stormy...and I was like "because it didn't happen" to which he says "but a Jury says he did" and "why did he pay her off" A) dirty cohen paid her off (b) she denied it way before he was president (c) jurors were vetted for a TDS bent...dirty jury pool and dirty judge ...which he won't believe because he can't imagine how corrupt the world is...
If he’s already made his decision about everything, why is it so important for you to change his mind? Why don’t you focus on building your marriage on things that you do agree on, and bye and serving the Lord together in one way or another?
You'd need more context, but it goes to his reasoning and integrity. And I am not trying to change his mind, I am trying to get him to critically think since he gets most if his information from X
Oh, for sure. Yes, I asked him that. He said, if any atheist was pro-life he'd vote for them. It is like...if someone says they are a Christian, they should Mmm like..."look like it". A big difference between he and I is he comes from a long line of churchianity. He worked at a church for 10 yrs. His mom directs sunday school as did his grandma....I on the other hand was a little bit of any and everything then had a radical encounter with Jesus and the scales came off my eyes about the world ...including the derp-state. He doesn't believe in what he'd call conspiracy theories. He also doesn't care about end times etc. To be honest, I consider him to be a sleepy christian BECAUSE of the background in Churchianity.
Y'all have given me some good leads...i'm pulling some notes together and will re-engage sometime this weekend.
You got off better than I did! I compared Trump and King David and his infidelity and he said “Don’t you dare compare him to David in the BIble!!”
The pulpit summary of the above is that God uses imperfect people to complete his perfect will. I always liked that one.
