Because the United States isn't a private company and the President does not have the power to hire and fire people just because they work in a government agency. He doesn't have the ability to hire and fire people just because they're in the Executive Branch.
Do they not teach this stuff in school now? I was in 6th grade when my class started learning how the government works.
I have complete faith that your research skills are adequate enough to be able to find out the answer to your question.
But to help you on your way, I took 30 seconds out of my day to find something for you to look at right now:
Absolutely. It's pitiful that MOST Americans are ignorant of our federal government and its founding and current state of lawlessness. It's down right frustrating to engage in conversation on the subject with most people.
You'd think people here would know at least the basics. 🤦♀️
Liberals at least have the excuse of being...liberals. I wouldn't expect anything better from them.
But just being ignorant isn't enough for some of the people here. Oh, no. They want to fight with you about it.
And then turn around to brag about being on an "elite research board". I think people need to earn that distinction. Just plopping their ass down online here doesn't make them an elite anything.
And now I'm grumpy because stupid people give me headaches.
I just need to call it a day and go hang around some liberals. I wouldn't be getting my hopes up needlessly around them.
I hope Trump knows who to get rid of at FEMA. Maybe it is one of the agencies that can be saved after he bleaches it.
He doesn't have the ability to hire or fire people at FEMA.
We really need to have a crash course on basic Civics and how the government works and what the President can and can't do. Because...damn.
Is FEMA not a government agency? Does it not fall under the executive branch? I'm really asking, I'm curious why he wouldn't have authority.

Could you please tell me who does have authority to hire and fire in FEMA if the President does not?
