It was for you. The fact that you don't even understand how it's relevant just shows that you really don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about.
In that case I would be happy to respond to your pivot as soon as you acknowledge that the President does indeed have the power to fire an employee at FEMA.
Anyway, I'm tired and have better things to do, so I'll just get this over and hope that something sticks.
If you're not aware, liberals are panicking right now because they think Trump plans to implement Project 2025.
A key component of Project 2025 is going through and just do mass firings. Now, many people here think that Trump isn't planning to do this, but some thinks he will. Either way, liberals were using it to try to scare people into voting for Harris.
Because one of the things that Trump’s administration is (supposedly) doing, is making legal changes so that most people working in government will be classified as "at-will" workers. There's a shit ton more info here about Schedule F, and labor unions, and blah blah blah, but I'm pretty much beyond caring enough to go into detail.
Basically, they're saying Trump is going to make it where he can just fire anyone he wants, in order to get rid of Never-Trumpers and anyone not loyal to him, and only hire people loyal to him.
Now, the important part here is that he tried to do this during his last term, but wasn't able to continue his work because of Biden.
Biden then took various measures to try to prevent Trump from gutting federal agencies when he was re-elected. So while it's not impossible for Trump to be able to accomplish this at some point, there's most likely going to be a long battle in the courts over it.
Now, here's the issue. Trump wouldn't have to go to all this trouble in order to fire government workers if he already had the power to fire them, as you're stating.
I hope you realize we haven't been speaking exclusively about FEMA here, because it pretty much applies to all government workers.
So, if Trump already had the power to do all this, he wouldn't have needed to work on this shit his last term or now.
So, here are some links that might help you understand it a bit better. There's also that info I gave you at the first of this conversation, and it will be important when liberals start fighting against everything Trump is going to do, because those are the laws they'll be using to try to block him.
I'd give more links, but I doubt you'll even bother to look at those.
Here's the reason it's important and why you should know at least the basics of what you're talking about:
Trump has frequently tried to distance himself from Project 2025, but liberals have used that as fear porn.
So either way, if he does or does not plan to implement it, you should at least understand what is involved in it, if only to prove the liberals wrong. For the love of God, please don't try to have a discussion with them about it if you don't have the foggiest notion what you're talking about.
And, just to point it out again, because I feel like I need to with you, if the President was already able to hire and fire whoever he wants (from FEMA or any other government agency), he would not have had to do all this work in order to make them at will employees, would he? And the reason why he wants them to be at will employees is so he can get rid of the troublemakers.
Was this intended for me or for a different conversation with someone else? I only ask because it is so far off the point.

See how all that works together?
Have a good rest sir. I'll do the same. You clearly do not understand the nature of power.
Uh huh
