Have you been following what has been going on in this war?
The Ukainians have been taking out S400 air defense systems. It's about 500 million dollar system. Under 20 years old. Maybe less than 100 were ever produced
The newer model the S-500 was put into service in Crimea in June. Unconfirmed reports were it was hit 2 weeks later. Only a handful of these were ever made. These would cost a couple billion to replace.
You're not wrong, however what we don't know is how many missiles are being launched in order to destroy a battery. And even then a lot of those "victories" are overblown or just photoshopped.
The thing is the Russian are routinely knocking out Patriots, IRIS-T, S-300s and the likes on their end. No airdefence system is fool proof especially when NATO(the US really) supplies them with real life satelite data of the said coverage over certain regions.
Couple that with the fact that they use tons of cheap drones as decoys so naturally you are bound to hit a system of two in these circumstances.
The point is that Ukraine doesn't have neither the resources, nor the money or the manpower to go into an attrition war with Russia. They are already losing and the only thing propping them up is the US. If we pull out, it's gg well played for them.
