HA! They have no leadership now. No icon, no alpha male or iron female to rally the party around. They are lost and in disarray and have no figure to unite the splinters of constituencies they have broken their party into. Indeed it is hopeless that any candidate could unite a party so fractured by its own ideology!
I will not tune in until a couple years from now, when it is time to dig on whomever surfaces from the sludge to contest for the dem primary . . .
The mid-terms are the next battle ground, to increase our majority in the House and Senate and in the States. Let's not worry about their hapless 2028 candidate for now . . .
I expect them to push for Andy Beshear at some point. Twice "elected" Democrat governor of a deep red state will be a huge talking point to try and sell him as a moderate
Thing with Fetterman is, he found a little bit of independence from the rest because of his medical journey IMO. That is the only reason he stands out a bit from the nasty crowd of bs. Their old ones are disgraced and on the way out, extremely disconnected with the people, most the younger ones are radical activists who only pandar to a sliver of society and ostracizes and verbally attacks anyone who disagrees. Unless Democrats make a hard break from identity politics and stop with all the -ist and -phobe name calling and excuses to not hear from over half the country, I dont see any of them a contender.
