The Clerk, Trent Tripple, is doing it out of frustration with the mistrust in the tabulators, and this is actually the correct response for a law-abiding clerk.
This is a far better solution than "recounts" or other expensive crapola. It's an Internet-era audit and even permits for citizens to perhaps leave a mark on the ballot to check if theirs shows up in the CVR (some systems won't pick up colored inks, for example).
These are the images (CVR -- cast vote records) that Lindell was encouraging people to request from their clerks.
Here in oklahoma, they post all the vote totals on the front door, immediately after the polls close. We used to have people swing by their precinct on the way to to the watch party. We knew the local results almost immediately.

Downtown Boise is really the only liberal part. The rest of Ada County is quite red. And the rest of the state is VERY red.

"Additionally, the system is designed to protect voter privacy, as the ballots do not contain any identifying information."
Ballots are separate from your registration.
The registration is the part that is not secret.
